As part of its plan to increase brand awareness, Cooper Tire is sponsoring the 2013 Cholmondeley Pageant of Power and will showcase a range of its acclaimed products at the event, to be held in Cheshire over the weekend of June 14-16.
With high-octane, high-decibel attractions, the Pageant of Power – which returns for its sixth year in 2013 – is the ideal event for Cooper to promote its range of high-performance and 4x4 tyres.
Although Cooper’s involvement in this year’s Pageant of Power will be its most high-profile to date, it has already been successful in competition at the event. Last year, Scott Mansell broke the Cholmondeley track record by over a second as he used Cooper slick tyres to storm around the course in a blistering 61.89 seconds in his Caterham SP/300.R.
Mansell is set to return to the South Cheshire venue in the SP/300.R for another outing but will have an ace up his sleeve as he sets his sights on another track record. Cooper’s involvement in hillclimbing through the Avon Tyres brand has enabled the company to provide him with a set of super-sticky tyres – perfect for the 1.2-mile course.
Cooper also aims to emphasise the prowess of its off-road range with a Cooper-sponsored 4x4 course set to be a key attraction at the event, which attracts both families and die-hard petrolheads alike.
As Cooper looks to further increase its presence, the manufacturer has also secured a stand for the three-day event. Embracing the fun element of the event, Cooper will run a series of games and competitions for all ages over the weekend, with the lucky winner of the top prize bagging a set of Cooper tyres.
Sarah McRoberts, Marketing Communications Manager for Cooper Tire Europe, said of the weekend, “The Pageant of Power is a fantastic event, with a huge variety of on-track action, so it’s the ideal place for us to really showcase our wide-ranging selection of tyres.
“Scott had a great run in the Caterham last year in damp conditions, so it would be interesting to see what he can do if the track stays dry for him – then we’ll see what we can really get from the tyres when he’s pushing to the maximum.
“We’re also very aware that it’s a fun-packed day out for families and real petrolheads, and we’re looking to embrace that fun element with some light-hearted games and competitions where people can win some great prizes.”
The Pageant of Power has fast established itself as one of the premier automotive festivals in the UK and will take place this year over the weekend of June 14-16 in the beautiful setting of Cholmondeley Castle, South Cheshire. A variety of tickets are available for the event; for further information, please visit the Pageant of Power website at http://www.cpop.co.uk/.
